THE LAB

The three positions

Three different things get called "testing" and they are not the same. Here is exactly what each one means when we say it.

Accredited testing and calibration

01 / 04

Work that falls inside our accredited scope, performed by us, to a method named in that scope, under the assessment and surveillance of the Saudi Accreditation Center against ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

This is the strongest position available. The certificate carries the accreditation mark, and it is recognised internationally under the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement, which is what makes it acceptable to your customers and their auditors outside the Kingdom.

Non-accredited testing performed in house

02 / 04

Work we are equipped and competent to perform, using recognised published methods, that is not inside our accredited scope. Accreditation is granted parameter by parameter and extending it is a formal process, so a laboratory always runs more determinations than its schedule lists.

The work is done to the same methods and the same standard of care. The difference is that the certificate does not carry the accreditation mark, and we say so rather than letting the mark on the letterhead imply something it does not cover.

A report is either accredited for that parameter or it is not. We will always tell you which, before you commission the work rather than after you read the report.

Every result sits in exactly one of these three routes, and the report says which. We tell you before you commission the work, not after you read it.

Partner laboratory testing

03 / 04

Determinations we do not perform ourselves and send to a partner laboratory selected for that specific capability. Heavy metals, pesticide and veterinary drug residue screening, and specialised instrumental work are the usual examples.

We evaluate a partner before using them and monitor them afterwards. The partner is named to you on request, results are reported under our cover with the source identified, and we do not present subcontracted work as though we performed it.

Why we do it this way

04 / 04

The alternative is to publish only the accredited list, which would tell you less than you need, or to publish everything without distinction, which would be misleading. Listing the full catalogue and being precise about status lets you see everything we can arrange while knowing exactly what each result will be worth.

If a determination has to be accredited for your customer or your regulator, tell us at enquiry stage. We will confirm in writing whether it falls inside our scope before you commit to anything.

Requests are read at the bench.

Send the sample question or the instrument list. It is read by a bench professional, not routed through a ticket queue. Confirmed phone, mailbox and address publish here at launch.
